The original IV vitamin blend

The Myers' cocktail is named after Dr. John Myers, a Baltimore physician who gave intravenous vitamin and mineral injections to his patients for many years. Clinicians later reconstructed and refined his formula, and most IV vitamin menus today include a version of it. Because there is no single official recipe, we call ours a Myers'-type blend: the Immunity Boost.

It is a supportive wellness infusion. It does not treat or prevent infections and it is not a substitute for medical care when you are unwell.

What is in our Immunity Boost

Each ingredient is chosen for a role it plays in the body, diluted in a sterile fluid base that also provides some hydration.

Magnesium

Involved in muscle and nerve function and energy production. It is also the reason many people feel a brief warm, flushed sensation during the infusion.

Calcium

Supports muscle contraction, nerve signalling and normal heart rhythm, included in smaller amounts to balance the magnesium.

B vitamins

Vitamin B12, vitamin B6, vitamin B5 and a B-complex mix help the body convert food into energy and support the nervous system.

Vitamin C

An antioxidant that plays a role in immune function and collagen formation. Amounts are lower than in high-dose vitamin C infusions.

Who books a Myers'-type drip

People commonly choose the Immunity Boost through cold and flu season, during demanding weeks of work, travel or caregiving, after a stretch of poor sleep or eating, or as part of a broader wellness routine. If you feel tired most of the time, blood work is often a better first step, because low iron, vitamin B12 deficiency and thyroid problems are common and treatable, and our Nurse Practitioners can check them in the same clinic.

What the research shows

Research on the Myers' cocktail is limited and consists mostly of case reports and clinical experience. In one small randomized trial in people with fibromyalgia, participants who received a Myers'-type infusion improved, but so did those who received a placebo, and the difference was not statistically significant. Some people report feeling better after a drip and the ingredients are well understood, but there is no strong evidence that it improves immunity or energy. We would rather you hear that from us before you book.

Your visit, step by step

1. Health screen

A qualified practitioner reviews your medications and history. Kidney disease, heart failure and some heart rhythm problems can make the ingredients unsuitable, which is exactly what screening is for.

2. Your infusion

A registered nurse places a small IV and starts the drip while you relax in our lounge. Most take about 30 to 60 minutes. If the warmth from magnesium is uncomfortable, your nurse slows the rate.

3. Afterwards

The IV is removed, you rest briefly and you can drive yourself home. Eat something light and drink water before your visit to help you feel comfortable.

Immunity Boost pricing

The Immunity Boost, our Myers'-type blend, is $215. The price includes your health screen, a drip prepared for your visit by our nursing team and monitoring throughout. The four-session package takes fifteen percent off any drip.

Frequently asked questions

What is in a Myers' cocktail?

A Myers'-type blend combines magnesium, calcium, B vitamins and vitamin C in a sterile fluid base. Exact amounts vary between clinics because there is no single official recipe.

How much does a Myers' cocktail cost at AuraWell?

Our Immunity Boost, a Myers'-type blend, is $215, including screening, a nurse-administered infusion and monitoring.

Will it stop me from getting sick?

No. There is no good evidence that a Myers'-type drip prevents colds or flu. Vaccination, sleep, nutrition and hand washing remain the most reliable protection.

Why do I feel warm during the drip?

Magnesium often causes a brief warm or flushed feeling. It passes, and your nurse can slow the infusion if it is uncomfortable.

How often can I have one?

There is no research-based schedule. Your practitioner will suggest a sensible frequency based on your health and goals.

Can I have one if I am pregnant?

Wellness IV drips are generally not offered during pregnancy without individual medical review. Tell us when you book so your practitioner can advise you.

Is a Myers' cocktail safe with my medications?

Some ingredients can matter for people with heart, kidney or blood pressure conditions, or who take related medicines. Bring a full list of your medications and supplements so your nurse practitioner can review it before anything is infused.

Who gives the infusion?

A registered nurse places the IV line and monitors you throughout. Your health screen and drip plan are reviewed by a nurse practitioner, who can adjust or decline a drip if it is not right for you.
