Healthcare Clinic Serving Thornhill

Thornhill sits in a healthcare in-between: too far north for downtown Toronto’s specialty clinics to feel convenient, but close enough that everyone assumes you will drive there anyway. AuraWell Health offers a different answer: a full multidisciplinary clinic twenty minutes west along Highway 7 in Woodbridge, with primary care, rehabilitation and specialty services under one roof.

Why Thornhill patients head west instead of south

Three reasons come up again and again. Access: our Nurse Practitioner primary care welcomes new patients, and NPs can assess, prescribe, order tests and refer, so it is a real medical home, not a stopgap. Depth: physiotherapy, chiropractic, osteopathy, acupuncture and registered massage share one roof and one treatment plan, with direct billing to insurance providers. And calm: unhurried appointments in a clinic designed to lower your shoulders on arrival, because care that rushes you is only half a treatment.

Physiotherapy for Thornhill patients

Our physiotherapists treat the full range of musculoskeletal problems, with individualized plans built around your goals rather than a standard protocol:

  • Back, neck and shoulder pain, including desk-related strain and long-commute stiffness
  • Sports and running injuries: sprains, strains, knee pain, shin splints and tendon problems
  • Post-surgical rehabilitation after joint replacement, ligament repair or fracture
  • Arthritis and joint stiffness, with exercise programs that build strength without flaring symptoms
  • Chronic tendon pain, where shockwave therapy may be added to treatment

Treatment combines hands-on manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and modalities such as shockwave and laser when they are clinically appropriate. An initial 60-minute assessment is $125, follow-up treatments are $100, and extended 60-minute rehab sessions are $150. No referral is needed.

One plan across disciplines

Many Thornhill patients benefit from more than one approach. For example, physiotherapy for a stiff lower back paired with registered massage for muscle tension, or chiropractic treatment alongside osteopathic manual therapy. Because our practitioners work in the same clinic and share notes with your consent, your care is coordinated instead of scattered across several addresses.

Massage, acupuncture and osteopathy

Alongside physiotherapy, Thornhill patients use our other rehabilitation services, either on their own or as part of a combined plan:

  • Registered massage therapy: deep tissue, therapeutic, relaxation, prenatal and hot stone. $75 for 30 minutes, $125 for 60 minutes, $170 for 90 minutes.
  • Acupuncture: fine, sterile needles placed after an individualized assessment. $120 for the initial 60-minute visit, $95 for 45-minute follow-ups.
  • Osteopathy: gentle hands-on manual therapy for musculoskeletal and mobility concerns. $130 for the initial assessment, $110 for follow-ups.
  • Chiropractic care: $120 for the initial assessment, $95 for 30-minute treatments.

Direct billing to your insurance provider may be available for these services, depending on your plan.

The hard-to-find list

Thornhill patients also come for services that are hard to find between midtown Toronto and Barrie: Emsella pelvic floor therapy for bladder leaks (fully clothed, no downtime), iron infusions outside the hospital system, men’s testosterone assessment based on blood work rather than marketing, FibroScan liver assessment, and menopause and perimenopause care delivered virtually by our Nurse Practitioner.

Virtual when it suits you

For renewals, sick notes, results reviews and everyday assessments, our virtual care brings the clinic to your kitchen table anywhere in Ontario. If a video visit shows that you need hands-on attention, we book you into the Woodbridge clinic with your records intact.

Helpful guides for Thornhill patients

Thinking about IV care? Compare our programs side by side: the Hydration IV drip, the Myers’ cocktail IV, the recovery IV drip and NAD+ IV therapy. Then read low ferritin and when IV iron helps, the NAD+ IV therapy guide, what a Myers’ cocktail contains, when an IV drip makes sense over drinking water and IV therapy for athletes.

Common questions from Thornhill patients

Do I need a referral for physiotherapy?

No. You can book physiotherapy, chiropractic, massage, acupuncture and osteopathy directly. Some extended health plans ask for a referral before they reimburse, so check your plan if you are claiming.

What should I bring to my first visit?

Bring your health card, your extended health benefits information, a list of current medications and any imaging reports or surgical notes related to your concern. Wear comfortable clothing you can move in.

Iron infusion and blood work

When tiredness, shortness of breath on stairs or hair shedding point to low iron, our Nurse Practitioners start with blood work rather than guesswork. If ferritin is low and tablets have not worked, an iron infusion can be given in our lounge with a registered nurse monitoring throughout. Our guide to low ferritin and IV iron explains the numbers.

Naturopathy and fertility support

Dr. Parya Bahrampour, ND, offers naturopathic care for hormones, digestion, skin, stress and fertility, including individual and couples fertility sessions. The initial intake can be in person or virtual, and care can be coordinated with our Nurse Practitioners when blood work or prescriptions are needed. Visit the naturopathy page for services and fees.

Insurance, receipts and direct billing

Direct billing to your extended health plan is available for physiotherapy, chiropractic care, massage therapy, osteopathy and acupuncture where your plan allows it. WSIB and motor vehicle accident claims are handled for physiotherapy. See insurance and direct billing for how a claim works.
