What NAD+ is

NAD+, short for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, is a coenzyme found in every living cell. It plays a central role in how cells turn food into usable energy, and it is involved in DNA repair and in enzymes called sirtuins that help cells respond to stress. Your body makes NAD+ from forms of vitamin B3 in your diet and recycles it constantly.

Laboratory and animal studies have found that NAD+ levels fall in some tissues with age, which is why it attracts so much interest in wellness and healthy ageing.

What the evidence does and does not show

What we know

Human studies of IV NAD+ are few and small. They show NAD+ can be infused, is generally tolerated when given slowly, and is processed quickly by the body.

What we do not know yet

There is not yet strong clinical trial evidence that IV NAD+ improves energy, slows ageing, sharpens thinking or treats any disease. Some people report feeling clearer after an infusion, and others notice no change. We offer NAD+ as a wellness infusion and describe it honestly.

Choosing a dose: 250 mg or 500 mg

The 250 mg dose is a sensible starting point for most first-time patients because it lets you see how you tolerate NAD+ in a shorter appointment. The 500 mg dose suits people who have had NAD+ before without difficulty and are comfortable with a longer session. Your practitioner helps you choose based on your history and goals.

What to expect during your infusion

Screening first

A qualified practitioner reviews your health questionnaire, medications and vital signs. NAD+ is generally avoided in pregnancy and breastfeeding, and people with heart, kidney or liver conditions, active cancer treatment or complex medication lists need individual review.

A slow, comfortable pace

NAD+ is infused much more slowly than a standard drip. When it runs too fast, many people feel temporary chest tightness, stomach discomfort, nausea or flushing. Slowing the rate usually eases these feelings within minutes, and your nurse adjusts the pace throughout. Plan for a longer appointment than a regular drip, especially at 500 mg.

Afterwards

The IV is removed and you rest briefly. Most people return to their day and drive themselves home. Responses vary, and some feel tired for the rest of the day.

Before you book NAD+ for fatigue

If your main concern is ongoing tiredness, check the basics first. Low iron, vitamin B12 deficiency, thyroid problems and poor sleep are common, treatable causes of fatigue, and our Nurse Practitioners can arrange blood work in the same clinic. If your iron is low, an iron infusion or tablets will do more for you than any wellness drip.

NAD+ IV therapy pricing

NAD+ is $235 for 250 mg and $295 for 500 mg. Each price includes your health screen, a nurse-administered infusion prepared for your visit and monitoring throughout. The four-session package takes fifteen percent off any drip, including NAD+.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

How much does NAD+ IV therapy cost?

NAD+ is $235 for 250 mg and $295 for 500 mg at AuraWell, including screening, a nurse-administered infusion and monitoring. The four-session package takes fifteen percent off.

How long does a NAD+ infusion take?

NAD+ is infused slowly, so plan for a longer visit than a standard drip. The 500 mg dose takes longer than 250 mg, and your nurse may slow the rate further for comfort.

Why does NAD+ cause chest tightness or nausea?

These effects are linked to the infusion rate. Slowing the drip usually eases them within minutes, which is why NAD+ is always given slowly with a nurse nearby.

Can NAD+ reverse ageing?

No reliable evidence shows that NAD+ infusions reverse ageing in people. Research is ongoing, and we prefer to be clear about what is and is not known.

Is IV NAD+ better than oral NAD+ supplements?

They are different. Oral precursors such as nicotinamide riboside are convenient and better studied for raising blood levels. IV NAD+ needs a clinic visit and a longer appointment. Neither replaces sleep, nutrition and care for any medical condition.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed. Every first visit includes a health screen, and your practitioner may suggest blood work depending on your history.

Who should not have NAD+ IV therapy?

IV drips are generally not offered during pregnancy or breastfeeding without individual medical review. People with heart, liver or kidney conditions also need individual review, and your screening checks this before anything is infused.

What should I eat before a NAD+ infusion?

Have a light meal and drink some water beforehand, as arriving hungry can make nausea more noticeable. Tell your nurse straight away if you feel unwell during the infusion so the rate can be slowed.
