Care that meets you where you are

Some days you need a clinician and cannot rearrange your life to see one. AuraWell's virtual care connects you with our own Nurse Practitioners by secure video from anywhere in Ontario: the same clinicians, the same standards and the same warm attention you would receive in our Woodbridge clinic.

How virtual visits work

Appointments are booked in advance at a time that suits you. Everything is documented in your AuraWell record, so your care stays connected instead of scattered across apps.

What we treat virtually

Everyday concerns

Virtual visits suit a wide range of everyday concerns: infections and rashes, cold and flu symptoms, prescription renewals, birth control, mental health check-ins, reviewing test results, sick notes and school or work forms, and requisitions for blood work or imaging you can complete at a lab near you.

When we need to see you in person

Some concerns need a hands-on assessment. If your NP decides you should be examined, we book you into the clinic on Highway 7 and your virtual notes carry straight over, so nothing is repeated and nothing is lost.

Sick notes and renewals, without the waiting room

Sick notes and forms

When you are unwell, the errand of proving it should not make you feel worse. After a short video assessment, sick notes and medical forms are issued when clinically appropriate, on clinic letterhead with registration details.

Prescription renewals

Renewals are sent directly to your pharmacy when they are clinically appropriate.

Preparing for your video visit

Before the appointment

Choose a quiet, private spot with a steady internet connection, and have your health card, a list of current medications and your pharmacy details within reach. If you track blood pressure, blood sugar or weight at home, keep recent readings handy, and write down your questions so nothing is forgotten once the call begins.

Privacy and your record

Visits run on a secure video platform, and your Nurse Practitioner joins from a private room, never a shared space. Notes, prescriptions and requisitions are stored in your AuraWell record under Ontario health privacy law, and you can request a copy of your visit summary at any time.

Virtual and in-clinic care, connected

One record across every visit

Every video visit is documented in the same secure clinic record used for appointments in Woodbridge. If you later book an in-person examination, a physiotherapy session or a FibroScan liver scan, the clinician you see can read what was discussed, what was prescribed and what was planned.

This continuity matters. You do not have to retell your story at each visit, and decisions build on what came before rather than starting from zero.

Follow-up after your video visit

Before the call ends, your Nurse Practitioner explains the next step in plain language: a lab requisition, a prescription sent to the pharmacy you choose, a follow-up video visit or an in-person appointment when a physical examination is needed.

Results are reviewed by the clinician who ordered them, and the clinic contacts you about anything that needs action. If your symptoms change or worsen in the meantime, book again; for an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

How much does a virtual visit cost?

A virtual consultation is $75, a prescription renewal is $50 and a sick note or medical certificate is $50.

Can you renew a prescription by video?

Often, yes. Your Nurse Practitioner reviews your history and current medications and renews what is clinically appropriate. Controlled substances, such as stimulants and opioid pain medications, generally cannot be started or renewed by video alone and may need an in-person visit. A prescription renewal is a private-pay visit at $50.

Is virtual care private-pay?

Yes. Virtual care at AuraWell is a private-pay service, so every visit has a fee: $75 for a virtual consultation and $50 for a prescription renewal or a sick note. Many extended health plans and Health Spending Accounts reimburse Nurse Practitioner visits, and you receive a receipt after every appointment.

Will my employer or school accept an online sick note?

Notes are issued by a licensed Ontario Nurse Practitioner following a real clinical assessment, on clinic letterhead with registration details: the same document you would receive after an in-person visit.

Who will I actually be seeing?

A licensed Nurse Practitioner from our own Woodbridge team. NPs in Ontario are authorized to assess, diagnose, prescribe, order tests and refer to specialists.

How do I book a virtual appointment?

Virtual visits are booked by appointment. Call 905-207-7000 or request care online, and our team will confirm your appointment time.

What if I need to be examined in person?

Then we see you in person, which is the advantage of a real clinic. Your NP books you into our Woodbridge location and your virtual notes carry straight over.

Which conditions can be treated by video, and which cannot?

Colds and flu, sinus and ear infections, urinary tract infections, rashes, allergies, prescription renewals, sick notes and follow-up of stable ongoing conditions suit a video visit well. Chest pain, severe shortness of breath, a suspected stroke, serious injuries or any emergency need 911 or the nearest emergency department. If your NP decides you need a hands-on examination, you are booked into our Woodbridge clinic.
