The common signs of perimenopause, how it is diagnosed, which symptoms need a prompt visit and the treatment options worth discussing.
Read articleRegistered Psychotherapists at AuraWell offer confidential, evidence-based talk therapy for anxiety, low mood, stress, grief and relationship difficulties. Sessions are available in person in Woodbridge or by secure video across Ontario, and every new client starts with a free 20-minute consultation to find the right fit.

For our rehabilitation services, direct insurance billing may be available depending on your provider and plan. If direct billing is unavailable, we will provide the appropriate receipt to submit to your insurer.
Therapy begins the moment you stop carrying everything alone. At AuraWell, psychotherapy takes place in calm, private rooms on Highway 7 in Woodbridge, or by secure video from wherever in Ontario you feel most at ease, with a Registered Psychotherapist whose only agenda for the hour is you.
We begin with a free twenty-minute conversation, because the fit between you and your therapist matters as much as the method. If we are not the right fit for what you need, we will say so and help you find a better one.
People come to therapy for many reasons, and you do not need a diagnosis or a crisis to book. Our therapists see adults and couples for the concerns below, among others.
Worry that hums beneath everything, panic that arrives without warning, and the exhaustion of a job or caregiving role that has taken more than it gave. Therapy helps you understand the pattern and practise new ways of responding to it.
Low mood that has overstayed, the loss of someone close, a move, a separation or a new chapter that feels harder than expected. Sessions give you room to make sense of what has changed and to find steadier ground.
Communication that keeps breaking down, recurring arguments, trust after a rupture, and the quieter work of how you see yourself. Couples sessions give both partners a fair and structured space.
Our therapists draw on evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, emotion-focused and mindfulness-based methods. The approach is chosen around your goals rather than a script, and your therapist will explain why they suggest it.
Sessions usually run fifty to sixty minutes, often weekly or every second week at first, then less often as things settle. Your therapist reviews progress with you openly, so sessions do not drift without purpose.
After the free consultation, your first full session is a chance to talk through what brings you in, your history and what you would like to be different. You will also go over consent and confidentiality, so you know exactly how your information is protected and the narrow situations in which a therapist must share it.
By the end of the first few sessions you and your therapist agree on goals and a rough plan, which you can change at any time.
You can meet in person at 4600 Hwy 7, Unit 105 in Woodbridge, with free parking at the door and a wheelchair-accessible clinic, or by secure video from anywhere in Ontario. Many people alternate between the two depending on their week, and you can switch freely.
Our therapists are registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. A Registered Psychotherapist practises independently. A Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) has completed their graduate training and is registered with the College while they complete supervised practice hours, which is why their sessions are offered at a lower fee.
Both provide the same confidential, regulated care, and both issue receipts that many extended health plans accept.
Sometimes talk therapy is the whole answer. Sometimes sleep, hormones, medication or an undiagnosed condition are part of the picture. Because AuraWell is a Nurse Practitioner-led clinic, your therapist can, with your consent, work alongside a prescriber down the hall, so your care is planned together rather than in separate places.
Psychotherapy is not an emergency service. If you are thinking about suicide or are in crisis, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide Crisis Helpline, or call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department.
An individual session with a Registered Psychotherapist is $175 for 50 to 60 minutes, and an individual session with a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) is $135. Couples sessions are $210 for 60 minutes. The first twenty-minute consultation is free.
Psychotherapy by a Registered Psychotherapist is HST-exempt in Ontario, and many extended health plans reimburse it, though plans differ in whether they list psychotherapists, social workers or psychologists, so check the wording in your booklet. We provide insurance-ready receipts after every session.
Many Ontario plans include Registered Psychotherapists, but some older plans list only psychologists or social workers. Check your booklet for the practitioner categories named; our receipts include the details insurers ask for.
Both are registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. An RP (Qualifying) has completed graduate training and practises under clinical supervision while completing their hours, which is why the fee is lower.
A relaxed twenty-minute phone or video conversation about what brings you in, what you are hoping for and how the therapist works, so you can decide whether it feels right. There is nothing to prepare.
It depends on your goals and circumstances. Some people come for a short, focused block of sessions; others prefer longer-term work. Your therapist reviews progress with you openly.

Yes. Couples sessions are 60 minutes and give both partners a structured, fair space to work on communication, conflict and trust.
Yes, with a few legal exceptions, such as a serious risk of harm to you or someone else. Your therapist explains these limits clearly in your first session.
If you and your therapist feel a medical opinion would help, our Nurse Practitioners can assess you in the same clinic with your consent, so everyone works from one shared picture of your care.
